June 2024 Income Report

Typically the TOUGHEST time of year for me and my online income

As you watch and read this I should be on holiday, well, not a holiday as such, just some time off work. It feels so good to take a complete break from everything I’ve been doing this year.

2024 hasn’t gone the way I thought it would all thanks to this membership taking off.

This is nothing but a good thing, but it has meant a rearrangement of my priorities and time. Again, this has been a really good thing.

I now have enough structure ( I think!) in my days and weeks to hold me in place and keep me flowing through the tasks I have to do to keep my online businesses going and also growing. I also have (I think!) enough flexibility and freedom to dream, plan and create and also to really enjoy the positive aspects of self-employment and working from home. Most notably that sneaky cuppa whenever I fancy it and a mooch down the garden when I need some fresh air and inspiration.

The Clubhouse in June

I tend to have a rough idea of the content I’m putting out each month, but it is of course subject to change when life events crop up out of the blue, or the thing I’ve decided to do takes way longer than I envisaged. So in no particular order, here is a loose plan…

  • June income report

  • Quarter 2 and first half of the year income report

  • Prepping for time off vlog video

  • Shopping List for July - my planned purchases for a month with a very tight budget!

  • Mid-Month financial reset - reviewing and renewing my goals, my financial to-do list and feelings and emotions about money this year

  • A chatty catch-up vlog

The video contains most of the income report but here’s a general overview of how I make money online and what the income report entails.

June Income Streams

  1. Vintage Shop (reselling)

  2. Youtube

    1. Adsense

    2. Affiliates

  3. Amazon KDP

  4. Redbubble and Society 6 (Print on Demand)

  5. Substack (membership)

  6. Coursework moderation for exam board

I will be sharing the amounts that were paid into my business account during the calendar month, rather than what was earned. I often earn money in a month that doesn’t pay out for a further month or two. Mixing the two together could get confusing so I will stick to the above for consistency and because that’s how my bookkeeping is done.

Amounts will be given in GBP (as a rule of thumb USD and the EURO is a third higher, Canadian and Australian dollars are ROUGHLY double GBP).

Please use an online currency converter for a more precise figure if needed.

I’m experimenting with different formats at the moment because the reports were taking a REALLY long time to produce and also weren’t representing the full picture.

What I’m showing you now is essentially my bookkeeping. In the UK you can use cash-basis accounting where all you have to do is input what comes in and what goes out and all your taxes etc. are calculated for you. There’s a wee bit more to it than that, but honestly not much.

The screenshot in the video (from my ever-evolving spreadsheet) shows the numbers mostly in the way they will be used for my tax return.

I talk about all the different income streams in the video so you get some context for the month ranging from how many listings I have in my Etsy shop to how many hours I might (or might not) have worked on a specific business!

I’ve focused on getting your content up and scheduled for my time off work so I must sincerely apologise for not responding to your comments yet. I read them all as they come through and you will hear from me again when I am well-rested and back in the saddle so to speak!

All the best my loves!

See you soon,

Mel
